The house was a home, and it was stunning. The owner was so knowledgeable on so many subjects, not just those regarding the beautiful home and the beautiful place of obidos, but many other's it was an absolute joy to listen to and made breakfast a very much anticipated event ,I'm so glad i chose casa picva as my destination for my get away. I would so highly recommend it to everyone who is looking to visit obidos.

Our room was very comfortable, clean, quiet and dark for sleeping. Our Host Joâo was very helpful with things to see and restaurants. He recommended Jalmon Jalmon which was very close and we can recommend the pork cheeks, runner beans and cod croquets. The best food we've had in Portugal so far. It is January and we found the town was not full of visitors which we enjoyed. We actually chose to have breakfast in and it was a good variety of cereal, bread, cheese and cold cuts, good coffee and a pastel de nata to finish.

Joao was a great host and very welcoming. A truly unique experience staying at this small palace surrounded by antique furniture and art collections. The rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable and lemon trees in the garden. The breakfast was great with home made marmelade, pastel de nata, etc.

It was a perfect stay. Great location, cozy room, pretty garden, breakfast with handmade jam and juice on an antique table, and really friendly owner. Everything was great. I felt like I was in the 17th century.

Casa Picva was a wonderful surprise! The whole place is furnished with beautiful and unique items, which are a pleasure to use or look at. Even the front door is lovely, with an enormous antique lock and key. The bed was clean and comfortable and the bathroom spotless. The owners were very helpful and organised a taxi for us to go to a wedding. We had some interesting conversations with Joao about the history of Obidos and Portugal. The owners also gave us a lot of privacy, which we appreciated. The location was excellent and we were given instructions on how to drive up to the front door, where we were able to park for 4 days, and from Casa Picva, we could walk everywhere in the old town easily. When we left, we accidentally forgot to take my coat and scarf, and the owners kindly arranged for them to be brought to Lisbon, where we were staying, so we could collect them.

In a beautiful location, steeped in history - stepping back in time. Our host was charming and very hospitable and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area. The breakfast was superb and We couldn’t have been better looked after.

All was perfect!!! Beautiful house with the garden with lemon and pear trees. Luxurious interior decoration! Excellent breakfast with fresh strawberries and homemade jam! Bed in the room very comfortable. Location is great!
