It's located inside Alishan National Forest Recreation Area but do need to walk a bit to get there. The staff is really helpful with all the information about Alishan, including the bus schedule, train timetable, tours, etc.

The place is very easy to find and accessible. Basic facilities and hot showers make it a luxury in the mountains. They also have inhouse tour that’s was very affordable and is the highlight of our trip
