Our stay at Yuelu Homestay was beyond fantastic. It’s located just a 5-minute walk from the west gate of park, making it a perfect base for exploring the stunning scenery. The rooms were clean, cozy, and provided everything we needed after long days of exploring, including a hot and cold filtered water dispenser and access to a washing machine. The proprietor, Lily, treated us like family from the moment we arrived, always making sure we had everything we needed. Lily prepared delicious meals for us each day, arranged our park tickets, and gave us invaluable advice on what to see and how to navigate the park, including maps she marked for us. We couldn’t have found our way around the park without her help. If you're looking for a place that feels like a home away from home, with excellent hospitality and a prime location for exploring the park, Yuelu Homestay is the perfect choice. I can't recommend it enough!

A very well-kept and lovingly run homestay within walking distance of the less crowded Westgate. The homestay is very clean with modern bathrooms and comfortable beds. The house was built with a lot of wood, which spreads a warm atmosphere and a very pleasant scent. Fresh fruit and tea are always available. But above all, it is Mery who makes this homestay so special. She speaks good English and knows the national park inside out. With her help, we immediately found our way around and made great tours right from the doorstep. In addition, she is a very good cook and we can also recommend her cuisine without reservation. We appreciated her hospitality very much and would come back anytime.

Perfect location, nice room, cozy house, it was all very nice. Merry is a great host, she helps you with everything, even after check-out! Pity she didn’t speak English more with me, my friend could speak Mandarin so they ended up speaking Mandarin all the time, which made me feel a bit excluded.

We had a truly wonderful stay in Yuelu homestay. The homestay is conveniently located at 5 minutes’ walk from the South gate of Yuanjiajie entrance of the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. The place has been beautifully renovated with traditional touch and is equipped with modern amenities. Merry took care of all details of our needs during our 5 days’ stay by arranging for transportation, entrance ticket purchase of Zhangjiajie and Tianmen Shan, as well as taking care of our laundry and upgrading one room without extra charge. Merry also provided us with queue-free itinerary in Zhangjiajie park thanks to her knowledge as a former employee of the forest park. Clean and comfortable room. We had 3 delicious dinners cooked by Merry and her team, with most of the vegetables grown at the garden of the homestay. Everything was perfect during our stay. Bravo to Merry and her team !

Amazing location. Home away from home. Merry was an amazing host. She booked our park tickets for us and walked us to the gates to make sure we knew how it all worked. Incredibile service, fantastic dinner and we loved that she sent us messages on WeChat to make sure we were getting on ok. If you’re planning on visiting the national park, you should 100% stay here!

Merry and her family were very kind, welcoming and helpful hosts. The homestay is located in the immediate vicinity of one of the main entrances of the Zhangjiajie national park. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean, and Merry's cooking is delicious. Also, Merry can arrange a private shuttle from the airport as well as tickets for the park, and will advise you on the best program depending of the time you have in the area. All in all, one of the best hotels I visited during my stay in Hunan, with the greatest hosts!

I really enjoyed my stay! The host Mary is incredible, she helped me a lot. The location is just near the entrance to the park, some minutes by walk. The room is clean, the food is delicious, all the staff is friendly. I highly recommend this hotel❤️

It was so far one of the best places I have ever stayed in - all thanks to our host Mary - she was truly a real guide, cook, lifesaver, trip advisor and just a heart warm person. We stayed three days, were well taking care of and fed (we arrived around midnight with transfer option and Mary was kind enough to prepare some noodles for us). The location itself is perfect, a quiet place but very close to the one of the National Park gates. Since Mary used to work in the park, she knows every path (literally) which was very helpful while hiking in Zhangjiajie. Last but not least Mary gave us a complementary upgrade to the bigger room. It is truly a homestay!
