The fine print
Zermatt is car-free. Cars can only go to Täsch (5 km from Zermatt). There are many parking lots and multi-storey car parks there. Trains go to Zermatt every 20 minutes.Please inform the property upon arrival via phone if you wish to make use of the free pick up service, which runs between 8:00 and 21:00. Outside of these hours, it is possible to reach the hotel within a 10-minute walk or with an official taxi.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was a good size, modern and had comfy beds. The hotel picked us up from the Bahnhoff. Breakfast was also very good. Location is superb.

Hotel room, staff, breakfast were all excellent and Zermatt is amazing. BUT hotel advertising offered a free transfer from the station but also said it was a 5 minute walk. We opted for the short walk. After 20 minutes with luggage climbing the hill to the hotel my wife was not happy. We would have taken the shuttle if not for faulty advertising. The shortest walk was 1.2 km; taking the first bridge to avoid main street crowding was 1.4 km. Nobody does that in 5 minutes. The shuttle itself took 5 minutes. A small criticism but an important one.

Nice and comfortable large room with view of the matterhorn right from the bed. Loved the ambience. Dinner service was also great with a 4 course meal with daily rotating menus.

We had an unforgettable stay at Hotel Jägerhof in Zermatt! The breakfast was a delightful start to each day, offering a wide variety of delicious options that catered to all tastes. Dinner on our first night was equally impressive, with a menu that offered high-quality ingredients. The service was exceptional, particularly from the waitstaff. The Argentinian waiter stood out with his friendly demeanor and excellent recommendations. We were also impressed by the waiter from Granada, who was attentive and made us feel very welcome. Additionally, the staff member from Portugal was professional and warm, adding to our overall experience. Our apartment was fantastic, featuring two separate rooms and spacious balconies with nice views, including a view of the Matterhorn mountain from one of the balconies. The cleaning service was exceptional, and they even washed the dishes with the washing machine every day if needed. The free transport from the train station was a convenient perk, making our arrival and departure hassle-free. The hotel's location is perfect—quiet at night for a restful sleep, yet just a short walk to the North Wall pizzeria and Julen restaurant, where we enjoyed some wonderful meals. After a day of skiing, the bar was a great spot to unwind with an Aperol Spritz. We highly recommend Hotel Jägerhof for its outstanding service, comfortable accommodations, and prime location. Thank you for making our stay in Zermatt truly memorable!

Excellent hotel location, just a few minutes' walk from the city center and the main bus station for all the cable cars. The room was comfortable, modernly furnished, and clean. Breakfast was good. The hotel's ambiance was very pleasant and relaxing. The staff deserves special praise—exceptionally kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about everything we needed. A special shout-out to the young man at the reception and the one who drove us from the train station (Alejandro, if I remember correctly).

The small electric shuttle to take you to hotel is so cute. The young male receptionist was so polite & attentive (gave me water as I was working in the lounge area. The room I chose was small, but didn't feel small at all. It had everything I needed. Bathrooms on main floor are extremely clean. Breakfast was fantastic/ ALTHOUGH, there was no decaf coffee option :( . If I was returning to Zermatt, I would definitely return to Jägerhof!

For a budget priced Zermatt hotel, it was exceptional. Superb buffet breakfast, excellent evening meals with a nice choice, reasonably priced wines Nice lounge and bar area Friendly, helpful staff Spotlessly clean in all areas Free taxi service to and from the station on arrival and departure
