Cheap and cheerful. Good value for money. Relaxed. The staff was friendly, accommodating and super helpful. The building, which is beautiful, has seen better days and is in need of a bit of TLC, but has plenty of quirky charm.

I liked how easy it was to get to Malindi Guest House from the ferry but also how easy it was to access transport both public and private to other parts of Zanzibar. The proprietor, Mahmoud has such excellent customer care skills which made my stay from Day 1 to Day 14 worthwhile - He truly exemplifies what it means to put the customer first and he went out of his way to ensure that my stay was comfortable all through. The Oman style house with the different pictures and evident circular economy in play was an absolute delight and the top floor where I had my breakfast every morning with a view of the ocean and beauty succulents and creepers made it all the more worthwhile. The breeze at different times of the day, the coaches to relax on, read a book, catch a conversation with other guests make it one of Malindi Guest House's selling point. Not to mention the wonderful staff who made our breakfasts which were tasty ( we had fresh Zanzibar fruit every morning & a choice of coffee or tea with eggs done whichever way you like them, Zanzibar bread and a tasty pancake)but also ensured our rooms were clean and tidy. Malindi Guest House is a true home away from home with a variety to offer for different pockets And Mahmoud is the heart of Malindi Guest House, not only in how he welcomes and treats guests but in how he offers helpful information about different places, even taking on the role of a guide. I absolutely recommend this lovely Guest House in Malindi Stone Town. Don't hesitate to book them for your next holiday - Great value for money and exceptional service:)

The shaby chic art style was to my liking. Full of character. It is In an ethnic old part of town close to the big fish market and the ferry. The room was very clean and had everything I needed. It was supper good value for money.

Malindi Guest House is at the ❤️ of stone Town , the Host was lovely and helpful in guiding us on places to see. The place is just beautiful, a little too beautiful; has a rooftop deck where you can see the ocean. The aesthetics and the antiques together with the rich 🇹🇿 history just amazing. Almost forgot the breakfast, curated to your preference according to their menu that day 🫡🥂

Fascinating photographs everywhere, quirky decor and lovely inner courtyard. Great location and great rooftop terrace. Comfortable bed with AC and ceiling fan.

Rooms are amazing,they Have a very nice rooftop terrace to hangout with a breathtaking Seaview Mahmoud/Udu is a great host ,very accommodating, kind, flexible and helpful. The breakfast was always fresh and the waiters were very attentive.
