The 2 best things about this hotel is the outdoor onsen and the view of the ski slope. It is a ski-in ski-out resort. You can stall your ski equipment at the base level.

The check-in process was rapid; the staff was polite and efficient. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful, with traditional Japanese items, including soba, miso-soup and grilled fish. The open-air onsen was great. Also, it is extremely convenient for skiing. The hotel has all the rentals, you can get your discounted lift tickets. Then you just come out of the door and start skiing!

Everything about this hotel was perfect. The location was right next to the mountain which was absolutely beautiful with the snow falling on it. Watching the ski run was amazing.. Best hotel I have ever stayed in. Absolutely mind blowing views absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to return.

Good location if planning to ski at Yuzawa Kogen. Easy ski rental from hotel and free locker provided as hotel guest. Nearby bus stop for free shuttle to other ski resorts.

Great location. Right next to Shigakogen ski field and gondola easy to rent ski necessities close by and close to Echigo Yuza station to access the Shinkansen from Tokyo. A fantastic authentic Japanese style hotel with a wonderful hot spring with even an outdoor onsen, varied very traditional dinners which was very much fine dining, and sleeping on futons on a tatami floor. Yukata robes, toothbrushes and amenities all provided. We paid for an early check in.

In-house onsen, good location to Yuzawa Kogen ropeway, free shuttle bus to/from Echigo-Yuzawa station, free yukata+onsen towels. Because we visited the onsen every night, there wasn’t a need to shower in our own toilet.

Everything was great. The building might be a bit old but it was well-organised and managed. The onsen was amazing too.
