If your check-in time changes, please update the property.In order to prepare special amenities for men and women, guests are kindly requested to indicate the gender of each guest staying in the room in the Special Requests box when booking.To eat dinner at the property, a reservation must be made 1 day in advance.Dinner meals include sashimi raw fish, beef steak, dashi bouillon, and soy sauce.Food allergies or other dietary restrictions must be informed at the time of booking or by 3 days before arrival. Please note that the property will try to meet your wishes, but these special requests are subject to circumstances.Meals are served at a dining room that depends on your room. Guests staying in standard or superior rooms use Gettoan restaurant. Guests staying in superior suites, deluxe suites, or premium suites use Keisuikyo restaurant.Guests booking multiple room types are requested to contact the property in advance for the property to reserve dining seats.The private dining room can accommodate up to 5-6 people per room. Anything over that will be a separate room.Please note that the restaurant is closed on Wednesday morning, and Thursday evening. Dinner on Wednesday and breakfast on Thursday are not served.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. We stayed in a cottage close to the river with a little terrace and the surrounding was beautiful. So too are the two small onsens (the best feature of the ryokan) that you can grab (no booking required) so that mixed bathing is possible, which is also the main reason we revisited here after 7 years.

We stayed on a traditional Japanese room with private onsen (private villa). Excellent and relaxing experience, we enjoyed our private onsen at night with a bit of snow. Personnel were amazing and extremely helpful. The whole complex is magnificent.

The location is slightly out of the way from Yufuin main area, which adds to the tranquility of the hotel ground and surrounding. Room is very spacious and well-equipped. Bedding (futon) is comfy.

Gettouan is lovely ryokan. It is very clean, the staff are extremely attentive and the location is beautiful. The food is of a superior quality and they kindly adapted the breakfast meal for one of us as we have a dietary requirement. The room was stocked with nice beverages and tea for our stay. They stocked the cupboard with enough fresh towels and yukata (light cotton kimono) for our whole stay. The public bath is clean and comfortable, and the private bath in the room is really nice for those that are shy.

Traditional Japanese room with private onsen, very good and relaxing experience for my wife and me. We didn’t have a good view in room but the whole hotel has a fantastic environment. Highly recommend booking the breakfast and dinner at the hotel

my husband and i love here so much. very beautiful place and you can enjoy a moment of silence in the heart of the moutains and high privacy . the staff are very nice and helpful. they helped us to book local resturants and welcome us once we drove in the hotel area. of course, it is better that you drive there as difficult to go down to the town at night time . the recommendation of the restaurnts are good and the welcome snacks are super yummay . you can find in the town named 今泉堂。

beautiful location, beautiful rooms, you get a rustic japanese lodge with access to traditional kimono, haori, and tabi. the room itself has a minibar with free beer and soft drinks. the highlight for me was the private hot bath which was hoter than the public hot spring. there is a guidebook in english about different resturants and bars in yufuin and the staff were able to book us. the staff spoke good english and were super helpful about everything!
