It was a really lovely hotel. Easy to get to from Doncaster. The owner was lovely showed us our room but it wasn't quite ready but that was ok we arrived early so we could walk into York. The owner actually gave us a lift into York which was a lovely surprise. He told us about all places of interest on the way. Our room was lovely and warm and very clean. The shower amazing and hot. Breakfast was beautiful. We will be back again. Nice walk into York as well.

This is the second time my daughter and I have stayed at the hotel. It's very friendly, the rooms are great, the breakfast (full English) is excellent, and the location of the hotel is great. We are planning to stay again during Easter.

Beautifully maintained, freshly painted. The bedrooms were well setup and the shower had the best water pressure that we’ve had for the past month. It is vintage in style, but it was my style. Arthur was a true gentleman and a friendly host and would definitely stay there again.

Not too far to walk into York centre. Very reasonably priced. Arthur was very accommodating as we got there early but as the room was ready he let us check in. He even offered us a lift into town but we chose to walk. Breakfast was good with a choice of fruit salad, yogurts, cereal & then hot food cooked to order.

Breakfast was exceptional. From the layout of the tables, the quantity of food available, and we thoroughly enjoyed the fresh cooked breakfast. The location was good with a 15-20 minute walk into the town.
