Easy location to find, near main roads, good central location. Good menu, nice breakfast, good bar and beer garden. Clean and comfortable rooms. Good shower.

The staff were amazing, really friendly, and made you feel at home, particularly as a solo traveller. The food was delicious. Cooked fresh and served with a smile. The bed was enormous for one person, and I slept brilliantly . Both check in and check out was easy. The bathrooms look like they've been refreshed recently and are stunning. Huge considering I had a small double room.

the staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Our rooms were upgraded for free. The rooms were beautiful and comfy bed. The food was lovely. We were there for a 30th party and most probably caused chaos but they took it all in their stride! The hotel is really old and has kept its character. If it was good enough for the queen to stay there then it good enough for me!

We were delayed on our journey, but Sam, the duty manager, took the initiative to phone and check if we were still on our way. When I confirmed we were, he let me know the kitchen was due to close at 9pm, just before our arrival. Instead of leaving it there, he spoke to the chef, who kindly stayed behind to prepare a meal for our party. This is what exceptional service looks like. Sam didn’t have to track down my details and call, and the chef could have easily left at the end of his shift. Their actions went above and beyond, and they are both an absolute credit to the hotel. Highly recommend.
