Please note private parking is limited. Additional public parking can be found beside the property.All guests have free access to the off-site Choices Health Club, a 7-minute drive from St John's Lodge. There is a swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, fitness classes and beauty treatments and massages available.Driving Instructions:
- Leave the M6 at junction 36. St John's Lodge is 17 miles from the M6.
- Travel along the A590 by-passing Kendal and then at a large roundabout take the second exit, signposted
- A591 for Windermere
-Turn off the A591 at Windermere (The Windermere Hotel is in front of you and the entrance to Windermere train station is on your left)
- Continue down through Windermere village on the one-way system to Lake Road – the main road to Bowness
- You will pass a Lakeland slate monument known as Baddeley Clock on your left, then Morgan’s Dentist and then St John’s Lodge is only a few more doors down on your left.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.

The breakfasts were excellent with the widest choice of food I have ever experienced. They were well worth the Award they had received. There was an abundance of fresh fruit which was very much appreciated in the cold month of January. The staff and host were very friendly, obliging and the service was prompt. The Guest House including the bedrooms were spotless. The communal for guests on the ground floor was an added extra which was also appreciated. The location was ideal for walking and travelling by car to see everything the Lake District has to offer.The location of the Guest House itself was very central with easy access to Windermere and Bowness.

The huge room with a very comfortable king size bed. On arriving early the staff were very accommodating and had our room ready within no time. Very friendly and happy vibe about the place. Breakfast was spot on.

Great location. Lovely welcome from Ada. Spotlessly clean, cosy and comfy room with lots of finishing touches. Small fridge with milk and water. Fabulous breakfast!

The owner is very friendly. He actually sits you down in the lounge and explains the whole information folder. Not something we ever experienced. Breakfast was decent, staff was friendly.

Ada and Rich were lovely, very helpful and knowledgeable on the area with tips on where to go. Excellent breakfast with lots of options. Comfy and very clean. The off site leisure suite was great too!

Lovely hosts very clean and the best breakfast . Close to both Windermere and Bowness , bus route to the whole of south lakes but easy walking distance too
