The property has an award-winning Gremillet champagne for GBP 30, and its own Rum Doodle Prosecco at GBP 15, plus Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc at GBP 10, fresh flowers from GBP 30, and red silk rose petals can be scattered across a bed for GBP 10. Local handmade chocolates from Huttons of Bowness from GBP 10 can be sourced too. Please just call or email to arrange any requests for special occasions.Rooms only cater for 2 persons and children only above the age of 12 are only permittedPlease inform in advance of your expected arrival time. Great place quick check in shown to our room (Shute room) Room was clean and is the largest I believe . breakfast was ordered the day before with a good choice and served to the room Really enjoyed our stay and would book again

Location is excellent, 15 minute walk to the lake or 15 minute walk up to the top. Breakfast was lovely too... full English breakfast to start the day off. Although i would just say.. the bank into the car park is quite steep, luckily we were in my partners car. As my car would not of got up the bank at all - If you have a low/modified car you would not get up the bank. Very friendly staff.

When we arrived, we were shown to our room and our host asked us whether we’d like a drink of fruit juice which was very welcome and he brought it up to our room for us, which was a nice start. Each of the rooms in Rum Doodle is themed after one of the characters in the book The Ascent of Rum Doodle,give it a read and you’ll appreciate the guesthouse much more as a little quirky bits and pieces which refer to the book our room reflected this and was very entertaining and comfortable, after a very restful night, we enjoyed a cozy breakfast in the breakfast room which was delicious and well prepared, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We liked it so much that we booked for the next week on our way back from our trip to Scotland.
