This traditional, Lakeland stone guest house is set in a tranquil location by Mill Beck river, 10 minutes’ walk from Lake Windermere’s shores.

A very cozy hotel situated on the outskirts of Windermere centre and only a short walk from Bowness. The landlady Liz was very thoughtful and friendly. The breakfast was superb with a good choice, something to suit everyone.

We loved our stay at the Rocklea. Chris and Liz were very welcoming and made our stay great with their delicious breakfasts and knowledge of the area. The Rocklea is in a good location and easily accessible for both Windermere and Bowness.

Thanks so much for so kind and warm hospitality. We really enjoyed 4 nights stay there! Even for our Japanese, they talked us every morning very polite and enjoyable. And also, their breakfast is so tasty and beautifully. We were looking forward to eating every morning. I would like to recommend this house for Japanese tourists !
