Good central location with private parking. Friendly helpful staff. Very good food, both dinner in the evening and breakfast. We are vegetarian, and our needs were well catered for.

The bed was very squeaky everytime you moved so sleep was not the best. The place itself was great and landlord and staff so welcoming it was great. We also ate there, the Thai curry was fabulous and a good breakfast too.

The breakfast was excellent, full English, having been out of the country for five years I'd forgotten just how tasty breakfast could be. I also had fish and chips for my evening meal - perfectly cooked and presented. There is very good choice of menu.

We left Dartmoor after 4pm and being of a certain age decided that driving to London would be a step too far . The ninety odd miles was plenty and Wincanton was the ideal stop.We found The Dolphin easily it is comfortable with good food and room, Wincanton was obviously a wealthy town in earlier times but does look to require regeneration package, as do many old towns .

our room was quiet, spacious and the location was perfect for our Christmas stay. our breakfast was really good, the best but about our stay was the full English.

The breakfast was what sold it for me, when booking. The booked Full English exceeded my expectation. I also ate (alone, sad I know) and had the rump steak, chips, onion rings and blue stilton sauce, both evenings as it was of high quality and a decent portion size. Followed by the ice cream. Bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. I loved the medium sweet cider and bought 12 bottles to bring back to Pembrokeshire as it was truly an excellent pint of locally produced cider. The staff we very friendly and helpful.

Location is in the very wide High Street. I had no difficulty parking but I went late on a Saturday night so may be different in weekdays. The reception and breakfast staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Really genuinely friendly and helpful staff. Thank you so much Dolphin. The room was very clean with tea/coffee making facilities and supply of biscuits and 2 small bottles of water. The shower was roomier than some others I have seen. The price was very reasonable comparing with other places within the half hour travel vicinity. The breakfast was perfect.
