It was tired. It had worn carpets, was patchy clean/tidy, food was uninspiring in terms of choice or quality.

The location was great for an overnight stay to allow us to visit Stourhead Estate (which is absolutely wonderful). Food was great also with huge helpings!

Only issue is quality of bed and timing of heating. Would have liked to have shower going to bed but no hot water at that time.

We had a problem. I booked two rooms my daughter and husband and baby were arriving about 10pm . We got the key to their room when we arrived at 4 pm , when we entered the room when our daughter arrived there were people asleep in the room . Luckily, there was still one staff member to find us another room and a cot . We also paid for a four-poster bed, which we paid extra for , unfortunately, we could not find anyone to tell . Apart from all that, it is a lovely place to stay . food was well cooked and presented well , staff very friendly.
