Heather “A great house to explore Whitby and surrounding area”
We stayed here during Easter half term and had a fantastic holiday. The house is in a great location, though not central Whitby it was a short and easy walk to get there. Also great base for exploring the Yorkshire coast and inland too. The house was comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. Overall it was very clean but I did have to do some work in the kitchen. Some utensils had been put back in the drawer clearly used and the large utensil pot had hair dangling from it. When I went to remove it I saw that all the utensils and the pot itself needed a good clean. I wouldn't let this put you off the property but that's why it wasn't 10/10 for me. The host was lovely, fresh flowers and welcome pack awaiting us on arrival and good communication from her during our stay. It was big enough for our family of four and our eldest loved the bunk beds and her room. Nice decor throughout with modern fixtures. I was slightly disappointed in the back garden It's not private/fenced off as expected (my assumption) so couldn't let the kids just play unsupervised as people from other properties sometimes came onto 'our' area. There was also dog mess occasionally as residents let their dogs out and didn't bother to clean up. This isn't the property owners fault of course but a fenced off area for the garden would solve it. That said we were out and about everyday so it was only late afternoon when we returned that we would potentially use it. My children loved the ducks that visited the area, sleeping on grassy areas, and they even came to our front door to say hello. I would definitely stay here again and we will be certainly return to Whitby and the surrounding area, it was beautiful.
