Please note the hotel rooms are directly above the nightclub and directly across the road from 2 local bars. There is excessive noise on Friday and Saturday nights especially from 22:00 until 2:30.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. We loved our room, it is really old and beautiful building. A very comfortable bed! basin in room was great! and the room was shabby but clean!!! We loved walking every day to the whakatane heads and eating fish and chips at 'Gibbo's on the wharf ''excellent food.!!!

Right in the middle of Whakatane, easy to get where I needed. Staff were awesome, very friendly. Bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and clean with a good sized TV. It was also surprisingly quiet for a Friday/Sat night stay, probably as my room was down the back of the hotel.

Location was great, staff helpful, room and bathroom adequate, right in the centre of town, restaurants, shops, cafes, walks all close by. Short drive to beaches and beautiful areas.

The location is central in the CBD and easy to walk anywhere. Basic amenities and water pressure and temperature was good. Basic room for a simple stay.

The staff were friendly on the day. The shower old style but was clean & the seperate hot & cold tapes were easy to get the desired heat & much appreciated after a long day of travel. Im so pleased we paid a little more for our own shower & toilet as opposed to sharing the facilities which you can do here at a cheaper price. The price was very reasonable for 2 people. I really loved the buildings old style charm. The kitchen & dining & Lounge areas were very spacious & I loved that it has an area on a balcony with tables & chairs & it has its own laundary, which is very handy. I was so stoked it was a Sunday as it was very quiet, & we needed to sleep well, (which I did), for the next days long drive. I would have LOVED this place as a student & a back packer, cos there was a pool table & bar with food & in the past I had the energy & desire to mix & mingle with strangers. I imagine it to be quite a happening place especialy on a Friday & Saturday night. I did really enjoy my stay & I would stay again, but it may need to be in a cooler season.
