Stayed in the eco room and that was great. Nice size and decks. Great facilities. Parking was also great, right next to room.

I booked the micro-cabin and deluxe studio and both rooms were very spacious and didn't feel cramped up including the bathrooms. Everything was spaced out nicely and easy to move around in and were well equipped. Both rooms were always clean and refreshed when we returned from our outings. Staff were very friendly, helpful and accomodating. What both my partner and I were impressed with was seeing how this was possibly Iwi or whanau operated. We loved seeing our 'own' (Māori people) doing the mahi and making Te Awa look fab. Also love how the Café was right there for us to dine at, the food there was also delicious.

The Unit was superb, open plan kitchen, dining and lounge. Bedroom bigger than normal with loads of storage space in closet. Kitchen was very clean with a good size fridge. Bathroom well equipped and good size shower. Even had a washing machine available along with laundry liquid, little things that make a difference. Nice sheltered outdoor area to the side. Cafe on site was very busy, which is always a good sign. Whakatane Fishing Club across the road which have superb meals. Take the drive to the end of The Strand where there is an awesome playground, and watch the boats tackle the Whakatane Bar.

I attended a whānau function at Wairaka marae it was a close quick walk from Awa. Recommendations from whānau that Awa was the ideal place to stay ✨️

Lovely place to stay with family. Clean, comfy and has everything you need. Staff were so welcoming, kind and lovely. Highly recommend to any families with the kids to stay here. Will be coming back again to stay.

Love the upstairs rooms (we had a standard double), very friendly and accommodating staff, great shower, good facilities, peaceful, nice size tv with lots of channels, good cafe on site, walking distance to wharf and town.

Great location - plenty of parking. Close enough to walk into town and eat. We stayed in the micro village - it was clean, private and spacious for the two of us. The beds were comfortable and huge! Parking right outside is a huge plus. Staff were very friendly.
