It was comfortable,clean,well equipped & very homely & welcoming.Loved the garden & that it had parking. Perfect location for discovering Dorset. Two village pubs that were both excellent for food.

WE really liked the feeling of the house as it felt rather homely inside and out. We really liked how the house was very well stocked and catered for including plenty of cutlery, crockery kitchen utensils and various cleaning products. We took a few of our own things just in case as we were not used to places being so well stocked from previous experiences before. However we ended us not using any of our own things and just used the house's fertilities. We also liked that inside the house we was maps, books and leaflets of the whole local area including a local bus timetable which was extremely helpful to us as neither of us drive or not local to the area. We loved that the number 8 service ran every 30 mins all day Monday to Saturday and even hourly on a Sunday in and out of the village. As well as this we caught the number x52 and x53 buses out from and to the village on a couple of occasions. We absolutely loved the location and positioning of the village of Chickerell. Fantastic surroundings and felt very quaint. The whole village felt very homely, relaxing and laid back despite being only a couple of miles from Weymouth. Yet the village was served by a little morrisons store for everyday essentials and 2 pubs in the village. we used the Turks head a number of times throughout time during our stay for food and drinks. The pub was very nice with lovely food nice atmosphere and very helpful and welcoming staff full of local knowledge both of the pub and surrounding area. The hosts who run the house were very lovely towards both of us being very friendly, talkative and helpful when we met them at the very end of our stay as we were finishing packing our things. We also really enjoyed our time every time we went into Weymouth. There was plenty going on for us in the town. including a lovely well kept beach with beach front attractions from arcades to donkeys to beach rides and a very good selection of cafes, chippies, pubs and shops throughout the town.

This charming cottage was well equipped and was a wonderful base for a peaceful stay, with a fantastic proper local pub nearby. We had a small glitch during our stay which was dealt with promptly and professionally.

It was comfortable and welcoming and in a lovely setting. We were left a welcome bottle of wine, fruit juice and chocolates which was a nice surprise and also fresh flowers. There was also a pretty little garden which was nice to sit in on a warm evening and a rotary washing line was provided with pegs!
