Hotel Overview

Hotel Schönegg is a 3-star superior hotel located right in the centre of car-free Wengen, which is only reachable by train. Some rooms have a mountain-view balcony and the hotel features an award-winning restaurant which serves a variety of quality cuisine using fresh local products.
Wood-panelled or stone walls provide a cosy atmosphere throughout the building. The newly-renovated guest rooms feature a TV, solid wooden furniture, wooden floors and wooden ceilings.
After a day out in the mountains, you can have a drink at the bar, relax in the sauna or enjoy the fireplace in the spacious lounge. Free WiFi is available.
The nearest lift to the Männlichen Ski Region is only 150 metres away. The Wengen Train Station is 300 metres away. The Wengernalp Train offers connections to the Jungfraujoch and to the Kleine Scheidegg mountains.

We really loved staying at this traditional looking, but very modern hotel. The room and bed were so comfortable and the views from the balcony fantastic. Breakfast was a generous buffet in addition to a choice from a cooked menu. The waiting staff were friendly and helpful. We were fortunate to have great weather during our visit and were able to enjoy an aperitif and evening meals on the sunny terrace. Again, we found the waiting staff very friendly and helpful. There was a lovely little lounge with honesty bar as well as a manned bar by the restaurant. The location is also fabulous - five minutes walk to the railway station and two minutes walk to the cable car. Both giving access to great hikes. We are looking forward to returning!

The hotel was so amazing, the breakfast was delicious and the staff were delightful. Perfect and very, very cute place to stay and in an ideal location.

Breakfast was good. Portions small but you can order multiple dishes. It’s good they give you a packed lunch option if you’re checking out early and can’t make it for the buffet.

A beautiful, well run hotel with stunning views in an exceptional town. We were recommended this hotel by a friend and we were not disappointed. It is a comfortable walk from the train station and right around the corner (steps away) from an indian, asian and an italian restaurant. We had the very best Ramen in that tiny Asian restaurant. There are also many other traditional Swiss restaurants within the immediate vicinity. The breakfasts at the hotel were lovely and the service friendly and attentive. The walks around this town should blow your mind. Having walked the town extensively we would choose this hotel again, upon a return visit.
