Guest houses Overview

Situated beneath the Mendip Hills, Burcott Mill Guesthouse is less than 2 miles from the cathedral city of Wells. Free WiFi and free on-site parking are provided at this charming Grade II listed building, which also houses one of only two working watermills in Somerset.
Each room comes with a private bathroom, an iPod dock and a flat-screen TV with DVD player. Tea/coffee making facilities and homemade shortbread biscuits are also on offer.
Award winning breakfasts are served in each morning, with many choices from full English breakfasts to scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Local sourced produce can is available, including homemade bread made from the Mill's flour. A variety of continental and vegetarian option are also on offer.
Guests can relax in the private garden, or enjoy a glass of wine in the communal lounge area. An enclosed play area is available for those guests with children.
The city of Wells features a 12th-Century cathedral, a traditional open-air market and Bishop’s Palace with its 14 acres of gardens. Glastonbury Tor and Cheddar Gorge can both be reached with a 30-minute drive.

This is the perfect stay for exploring the surrounding areas of Wookey, Wells, Cheddar and other areas in Somerset. The location in the Burcott Mill is beautiful and the rooms are very cosy and clean with every need taken care of. Louise showed us through the guide pack and was on hand for any questions, she made a a gorgeous breakfast every morning and we got to sample different breads from flour produced at the mill and other local products. It was a perfect cosy location for a January birthday trip!

It was a damp , depressing day when we arrived but despite this the Mill House was warm and welcoming. Every comfort was laid on for us in our room and our welcome from our hostess was warm and inviting. The breakfast was incredible: cooked to perfection and really delicious. We were offered three different types of bread and locally produced marmalades which all came home with us! many many thanks for making my birthday special. Judith

Everything, location was great, rooms were fantastic and breakfast was lovely. Even got a tour of the mill in action which was really good. The hosts were amazing during the two nights we stayed.
