Really nice historical building utilised as an hotel and retaining all of it's 'olde world' charm. The best thing about the building is it's location, centrally located in the heart of the city, yet still on a quiet side street, so I experienced no road noise whatsoever. The bed was really comfortable, acceptable tv offering with Sky Sport, and the shower was spacious, clean and tidy, with good hot water and reasonable pressure. Service was friendly, welcoming and informative.

A wonderful friendly welcome to this characterful and comfortable hotel. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring Wellington and for the station where we got the shuttle bus for the Interislander ferry.

Location is great for meetings in the business district. Staff are friendly and helpful. NZ charm on full display. Fresh milk in the fridge was nice. Rooms can be large and furnished in the style of the building, which is quaint 1940s. Beds are quite soft. This is a positive for me. Bathroom was old-style but relatively new. Ironing board and iron were also relatively new.

Authentic, unique, historic building with original features.Beautiful timber lined lift with brass cage door. Fabulous. Great location, quiet but close to the Quay, and Parliament building. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful with recommendations of dining options, and booking a cab on check out.

The hotel was an amazing historical building and our room beautifully and sympathetically designed. The bed was very comfortable along with a lovely bathroom. The position so close to the historic dock area with superb restaurants and bars plus the renowned Te Papa museum was outstanding.
