Comfortable room and nice bath, good breakfast and friendly staff. Clothes washing machine and kitchen. Good location close to railway station.

Location was fantastic, not being too far away from the CBD. The room itself was great, given we stayed for a week long stay, we were provided with an oven that also grilled, a dishwasher, sink, cutlery and crockery. The kitchen condiments were replaced daily, as were the bathroom essentials. The cleaning staff did an amazing job. Given we have a young son, it easily got untidy, but each day when we got back to the room, it had all been reset - I truly appreciate how hard they work (it's not easy). The valet staff and front desk were very friendly, even bringing down our car without us asking, as they knew what time we were leaving the next day. All in all, given this was our first trip to New Zealand/Wellington, I would highly recommend staying at the Bolton Hotel.

The hotel location is close to town and there are plenty of good eateries available on the Terrace; a short distance away. Access to Lambton Quay is also easy. As is the Cable Car and Botanic Gardens. The room had most of what we needed but was on the smaller side. The 3 menu items (pork bites, green beans and bruscetta) we ordered from the snack menu were flavourful and delicious.
