OK but the place needs maintenance. eg. Verandah nails sticking up out of the wood ready to catch bare feet (also wrong kind of nails were used for fixing boards). Outside needs painting badly. A bit cramped but that is to be expected in a train carriage. Not good storage for belongings or good space for using laptop computer. The price was reasonable for what it is. A really cute ambience whch was nice.

This is just a really cool place, very unique. We stayed in a SHIP! It had been pulled up from the sea and sits in a valley, just a little down the road from Waitomo Caves! And it was just super cool! My friend said "This is the best hotel room I've ever stayed in!"

Loved the boat it suited our family of 5, it slept 6. Great location and lovely staff who allowed us to store our luggage 5hrs before we checked in. Walking distance to all the eateries. Would definitely stay here again.
