The fine print
Please note that parking is not possible on site. Please leave your car in Starý Smokovec and from there, you can take a funicular to Mountain Hotel Bilíkova Chata or take a 3 km long walk. The funicular runs every 30 minutes between 7:30 and 18:30 in the seasonal months. In the off-season, it runs between 8:30 and 16:30.Please note that breakfast is served every day between 7:00 - 9:00.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.
Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

Very clean room and beds, lots of places to dry wet clothes after a winter hike. Very spacious rooms and bathrooms. Great food in the restaurant.

I didn’t have breakfast at the chalet as I’m on a gluten-free and dairy-free diet (and vegetarian), which is not a good combination for eating in Slovak restaurants so I brought food with me. It’s great to be able to store food in the mini-fridge at the hotel corridor. The last time I stayed at the chalet with my partner, we suggested it would be useful to have access to a kettle instead of having to ask for hot water for the flask at the bar (though the staff were always very helpful). This time there were communal kettles at the hotel corridors, as well as a microwave. It all made preparations for long mountain walks much easier. I arrived before check-in time and asked if I could leave my luggage at the reception while I went walking and as my room was ready, I was checked in early, which was really appreciated. Every time we stay, the staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. The rooms are well appointed and clean, with a good bathroom/ shower. The views are great (especially from the apartment which faces the mountains). Staying at the chalet saves 6km (walking from/to an alternative base in Starý Smokovec) which allows more time for walking to Zbojnícka chata and Téryho chata.

The location is really great, it's surrounded by mostly "green" and "blue" trails which is quite nice if you are planning an easy hike and the waterfalls nearby are stunning, just in 15-20min from the hotel. Really good place for a quick retreat. The room was super clean and cozy, but still a bit pricey. In the high season, the trails most likely will be overcrowded.

I really liked the staff, the house itself and my little room, I could use a sauna for 15 Euros and what I had at the restaurant was tasty! Also, of course the view was amazing and it was easy to get to even with public transport.

Food was excellent, the beds were comfortable and the toilet and shower facilities were extremely clean and well looked after.
