The fine print
In order to secure the reservation, guests must contact the accommodation directly after the booking is made.--Based on local tax laws, all Chilean citizens and foreigners must pay an additional fee (IVA) of 19%. This additional fee (IVA) is not included in the hotel rates and must be paid separately.Payment before arrival via bank transfer is required. Everything was fine, as described. Nice quiet room. The hotel is located close to everything, just a walking distance from the center of the town, close to supermarkets and restaurants.

The location is great. Close to the main attractions and roads, as well as having a supermarket a couple of minutes away to get all the basics. Money well spent if you are looking to save costs and not share a hostel. You do have to share the toilet, but it's with just one more room, which I find perfect. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. For example, we received a message asking us to confirm with a transfer to a local Chilean bank, which is common practice in Chile, but I didn't have time to make it, as we booked the same day. I immediately wrote to the hotel and requested to pay cash upon arrival, and they said it was okay without hesitation. Very accommodating. Finally, they provide free tea and coffee, towels, and soap, everything you need for a couple of days' escape in Viña del Mar.
