The staff was really nice and helpful. Our room was ready 3 hours earlier and that’s a huge gift for a traveler on their Camino de Santiago. Really appreciated.

Hotel Chipen is located away from the bus and train station, but is with an hour's walk of the beach. I was interested in the beach more than the old town, so this was a good location for me. Also, there are many good restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance of the hotel. My room was clean and comfortable and had a balcony overlooking the street, which was nice. My room did not smell of smoke, even though the hallways did. This is understandable when you consider that it was acceptable to smoke anywhere in a hotel until recently. The people on the front desk were very friendly and helpful.
