Family-run Hotel Fontana is a restored 18th-century Venetian house which enjoys a central location in Venice, just behind San Zaccaria square and a a 5-minutes walk from Saint Mark’s square and the Bridge of Sighs.
Comfortable rooms overlook the characteristic squares below, some have a private terrace with views of gothic San Zaccaria church.

Super location next to piazza San Marco. Loads of bars and restaurants nearby for breakfast or if you don't fancy going far for dinner. Note: that generates some noise but it dies down later in the evening, so not a bother unless you go to bed super early. Helpful staff. Additional blankets and pillows in the room.

Great location and friendly staff. Room was compact but spotless, good air con and good powerful shower. Only short walk to San Marco so a great base to explore Venice. Near to waterbus routes also. Local streets have plenty restaurants. Nice little wine bar on corner of building a great way to relax and end an evening.

The staff was extraordinarily friendly and gave good recommendations for the stay in the city. The solo room was on the upper floor and very charming, even with a small bathtub. Everything was very clean. And the location is super nice with only a few minutes by foot to St Marcus Square and 10-15min to Rialto Bridge. There are many restaurants close by.
