The staff were outstanding; friendly and very informative with suggestions for our stay in Venice. A special shout-out to Lucia (I think that's her name) at reception for all her advice and conversation. The location was perfect for getting around Venice (on foot), seeing the main attractions, but also more local areas such as the Cannaregio district. The room was quiet and the amenities were all great :)

⁃ Hospitality stands out when is joined by politeness and warmth! These ingredients made my stay at THE CANAL GRANDE HOTEL IN VENICE more than comfortable or pleasant, memorable. ⁃ My room with a balcony was overlooking the leafy square, while from the windows I could see the busy waterfront, and the nearby bridge with the endless movement around the train station at the bank opposite. Yet no noise. On the sunny days the beautiful Venetian light lit up the room. ⁃ The decoration of my room and the downstairs salon and breakfast area is period, an elegant twist of good quality. The curtains, the upholstery and the linen is new, clean and fresh in touch. My room was well provided with the functional part too: The kettle, the mini bar, the wifi, the good shower. ⁃ A great variety of tasty quality food for any taste in a serene atmosphere and view of the canal at breakfast gave the best boost for the day. ⁃ Clean, quiet, discreet yet generous in helpfulness and politeness! The greatest asset of THE CANAL GRANDE HOTEL IN VENICE is the staff. From the booking to the farewell, the communication has been clear, polite and very satisfactory. At the reception you can get info on Venice and any help required. The service and room maintenance is impeccable. ⁃ The location is convenient to be reached by vaporetto at Riva de Basio day or night. You find restaurants and cafe’ all around Campo San Giacomo or along the canals just minutes afar. ⁃ I have travelled enough in my life to grant an extra value for the care invested in the details and the services providing hospitality. The CANAL GRANDE HOTEL does not disappoint not even those of the philo-Venetians who seek to saviour the phantasy of staying temporarily in a Venetian palace. I was lucky to enjoy the Christmas tree too. ⁃ Overall I would say it is good value for money. Looking forward to return to the lovely hotel. Happy Christmas to everyone!

Very convenient location near station and Piazzale Roma, also only steps from Riva Di Basio vaparetto station. Extremely welcoming owner and reception staff, full of advice and Venice insights. Lovely restaurants nearby. Rooms small but comfortable. Loved my double-aspect room overlooking Grand Canal. Super for a 3-4 night stay.

The breakfast had a fairly small selection of most things, apart from cakes and other sweet things where there was quite an extensive range. They made coffee to order, which was a nice change from having to queue at a machine. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was very quiet and the bed very comfortable.

The hotel is overall magnificent. The facilities meet every need and beautiful. The breakfast options and qualitiy are super. The bed is comfortable. I just mention Julia and Anka. All the staff is kind and polite, but the two of them stand out: they are very professional, extremely friendly, we were enchanted by them and we are really grateful of them.

We did stay here 10 years ago as an base for our wedding. Came back for our anniversary and got exactly this same room as ten years ago. Staff was always helpful, polite and everything with a smile. Canal Grande never disappoint. Thank you, we will defo be back ❤️ Oh !!! Im a chocolate lover and They do the most amazing hot chocolate I ever had !!!!

Location was very good, especially now there is a new ferry wharf next to the hotel. No longer need to carry luggage over the big bridge in front of the train station. Breakfast was good.
