Everything, the staff, the room, the pool, the view from the cliff edge. Akshay the receptionist who checked us in was very helpful and also shared a lot of details on food nearby whether the south cliff or north cliff and all the activities that we could do in Varkala. We enjoyed our stay as the beds were comfortable and the room was spacious.

Cliff Stories had the best location of all the hotels on the South Cliff because of its cliff facing pool and seating below to watch and enjoy a nice sunset. It also had access to a private (sort of) beach. The rooms were very clean. The best part was the manager. Anything we needed from a bike to car rental or autos, he was always there to help us out. Very humble and kind person. There are cafes within walkable distance around this place to hangout. The rooms had most of the amenities and even had a drying rack to hang your clothes outside after a lovely swim in the pool/ocean.

The lawn area and the pool were awesome. The rooms were not as expected. They have maintained a classical touch to the ambience, rather being suffosticated. Could have provided some dress hangers. The food was also good.

The location has private beach access via stairs, a serene pool facing the Arabian Sea ideal for sunset photography, though the beach access involves many stairs, making it unsuitable for those with mobility issues. Breakfast offers limited options but delicious traditional Kerala cuisine. The rooms were really clean and cozy, with effective AC, and there’s even a nice sitting area! Opted for 1st floor. And can watch the beach as you step out the room. It's a very peaceful and relaxing place to unwind and get some rest. There’s a lawn facing the ocean, along with a cozy open restaurant with stunning sea views. The staff, especially Sharath and Sreejesh, were absolute gems, making my stay unforgettable with their warmth and assistance. Sharath’s photography skills blew me away when he kindly snapped some incredible shots for me. And Sreejesh’s assistance during check-in, check-out, and with luggage demonstrated a level of friendliness and helpfulness that truly made me feel welcomed 🫶🏼 Additionally, the location’s proximity to Trip is Life Cafe adds to the experience, offering a must-visit spot for sundowners with breathtaking views and amazing food. Make sure not to miss out on visiting Cafe Sarwa for its food and charming aesthetics. It’s conveniently located within walking distance.
