We stayed here before leaving for the Hike from Valbonë to Theth. It was just great. One of our best experiences in Albania for sure! The family was just so cute. They cooked dinner for us in the evening. Everything was from their own farm and it was just so tasteful and amazing. We loved it! The best food we had here in Albania! The son was speaking English, so you could easily communicate with him. We also loved all the animals. For the hike the room is perfectly located. They even made us a lunch package for our hike, which was so delicious (great cheese and sausage and the best apple I had in Albania). Also the room was so tidy and clean and even though they did not have a heater, we were not freezing because they prepared really thick wool blankets.

We had breakfast and dinner. The food was superb. All cooked from scratch. A lot of it was grown in the hosts’ garden. The hosts were very friendly and extremely welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely family and so friendly. Great food mostly from their own garden. Real atmosphere of how Albania used to be. You won't get a better experience of traditional Albanian life.. they arranged a 4by4 to the trail head for the Theth walk 30 euro but ask around at the café for people to do a share It is worth the money for saving 2 hour walk.

Lovely hosts, beautiful location, delicious food! We really enjoyed staying here, a very authentic, family home-stay. The set up was relatively basic, but had everything we needed for the one night before the hike from Valbone to Theth. Our host even made a lovely picnic for us to take up the mountain. Dinner and breakfast was really delicious, and everything was made vegetarian for us. Really comforting, home grown and home cooked food - perfect! The hosts were so lovely, and although we did not share a common language, they were so kind and accommodating and even collected something that we left on the bus for us. The garden and views were so incredible and very tranquil. It was wet and cold during our stay, but there were plenty of blankets to keep warm (there is no heating). We didn’t use the shower, so can’t comment on that. We also absolutely fell in love with Luna the puppy! She is so sweet! Note: The guest house is about a 30 min walk from the Valbone pass trail head. Local taxis charge €30, which we thought was a mistake/ lost in translation! The walk was fine - you can follow the riverbed from the guesthouse most of the way - definitely not worth €30!

The hosts are super kind and welcoming (the definition of albanian hospitality). The location is incredible (the views are amazing, it‘s a bit closer to the start of the trail than other guesthouses). We ate dinner at the guesthouse and food was very tasty and local like the breakfast was and very fairly priced. If you seek a true and authentic stay in Valbone do yourself a favour and stay with this family Our best stay in Albania!

Our entire group agreed it was one of the best places we’ve ever stayed- a proper rural experience that you cannot get in a city. Staff were amazing and despite the language barriers we managed fine. The food was amazing, the tap water was clean and the surrounding mountains were incredible to gaze upon. Absolutely loved it and could not recommend it enough as a place to stay before the hike to Theth. 10/10. They have an amazing dog there too.

Very kind family in a great place. We helped with collecting prunes and apricots for the raki and got a proper peek in the Albanian mountain life. We could leave our luggage there while trekking for five days. Returning there felt like coming home. The food is mainly from their own garden and delicious.

Absolute amazing and beautiful place. The host is genuine warm and caring. They grow all you eat so everything are organic and from the farm and delicious. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the extraordinary beatiful views of the mountains. The place has a great location if you are to trekk over to Teth and you can ask for picnic to bring with you. You can walk to some other guesthouses to visit other restaurants, but really recommend the food at the host, but you could take a walk for a drink in the evening if you want to explore more. You can drink the water and refill your bottles from the tap. The family are genuin and friendly and takes good care of you. Really recommend this place and would love to come back! We could have stayed more nights since you can make several trekks from here and less tourist than in Teth.
