We’ve been to CR for 3 weeks and Jorge was THE BEST host so far. Incredibly friendly, helping and nice to be around - he is really passionate about his lodge and enjoys connecting with guests! And speaks good English. He even made it possible for us to go on an unforgettable tour to see whales (we saw plenty, even a baby and dolphins) for much cheaper than the agencies in the town try to sell you - we would happily do it all again! The accommodation? Very cosy, cute, clean, enjoyable and perfect to relax. Nice location to walk around and close to the national park and the beach.

I was super happy with my choice: the cabinas are steps from tiendas, cafe and bakery, yet they are down a quiet side street in a garden full of flowers and plants: in the mornings I sat on the deck of the kitchen, brewing coffee, and watching the most amazing birds (like toucans, humming birds and scarlet macaws). The kitchen was perfectly well equipped: the bathrooms clean: the internet stable and I loved having a private 'glamping' chalet for the price of a dorm (and a note, it was rainy season, when I stayed, and my cabin was perfectly dry and cosy!). The hosts are a welcoming local family full of pura vida vibes...I arrived soggy and feeling a bit down but yet left with a happy smile : ) ...I look forward to my return!

Comfortable stay with a nice bed in a beautiful and unique little hut! There is a kitchen to cook and the place is close to the beach.

Spacious room, clean bathroom, kitchen facilities, strong AC. Private covered outdoor seating area. Located in the area near the national park. The owner was helpful. Very good price.

Very cute A-frame mini-house, which we loved, with very welcoming hosts. Be aware that you need to pay in cash (either colones or US dollars) while you're there since they don't take credit card.

Air con was amazing! Host was super helpful and friendly and lives on site so no need to worry about late check ins. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook all our meals (esp as Costa Rica is expensive). Chalet was nice and private and peaceful. Walking distance to tiendas, cafes and the bigger supermarket for a more hot and bothered walk but do able! There IS wifi despite no mention of it! Was very happy with that.

It was in a quiet location and very close to the beach. The hut was a good size. The owner was very helpful and great to talk to.
