The host Janaka is very kind and helped us with onward travel and also the safari. The safari was very good and a good price as was the taxi we booked via Janaka. We recommend dinner it’s lovely and in a nice atmosphere. The room is also very nicely decorated, clean and has everything you need . Thank you for a lovely stay Janaka and we wish you luck in the future.

The elephant door is full of beautiful little details that make the experience amazing. There was excellent communication prior to arrival to make sure you have everything you need (transport, safari etc), then the stunning wood theme room with a living area (desk, couch, fridge etc), huge bed and modern bathroom. I opted to have dinner at the hotel and it was delicious and thoughtfully presented (the tables even had phone chargers), then also opted to go on a safari through the hotel which was also really lovely with a lovely packed breakfast and knowledge guide. I wouldn't hesitate to book here, highly recommend.

We stayed in this accommodation for 2 nights in December. Janaka, the owner, contacted us before we arrived to make our stay even better. He was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our stay to make our vacation unforgettable. We booked a full-day safari through him in advance - it was simply unique and the best decision. On the first evening we were the only guests, but his wife and mother cooked fresh food for us. The food was incredibly delicious and simply has to be tried - including the breakfast, which you could choose in advance and was also freshly prepared. The room was also better than expected - enough space, furnished with attention to detail and very comfortable. All in all, simply unbeatable for the price. Thank you very much for everything Janaka - we'll be happy to come back! :)

This place is super clean. Well thought out. Pleasant quiet oasis in the otherwise awful city. The safari organised by the owner is great. We arel fully content. The driver arranged by the owner was knowledgeable,and invested in us having a good time, including borrowing us his binoculars. It's not the cheapest, but worth the money. Room is awesome, comfortable bed, working AC, kettle with coffee and tea bags. Place is a gem. Best place we stayed at in Sri Lanka.

Clean room and spacious room, warm welcome, great host. We also had dinner at the hotel and it was delicious (and the breakfast as well). Hotel is close to the elephant transit home where you can see baby elephants.

Amazing service and was a highlight of our trip. Booked a sunrise safari through the hotel which was great value for money and perfect timings. Dinner and breakfast was well worth including, was the best breakfast of the trip, plus the rooms are comfortable. A unique stay overall and very close to the elephant transit home and national park. Highly recommend

Absolutely incredible!! The best stay we had during our time entire holiday. Janaka, the owner is so kind and very focused on making your stay and beyond as comfortable as possible. The hotel is super nice, very well equipped with incredible food in the restaurant. Lots of attention to details and aesthetics. The room was by far the best equipped and we even had yoga mats. Super clean and cozy. Janaka also organized a safari for us and all the transfers to get to the hotel and further.

Our stay was perfect. The room we booked was clean and had all the facilities you need (hairdryer, card games, towels, napkins, mosquito spray, water bottle, umbrella, etc.). The bed was comfortable and had a mosquito veil. They also organized a great safari, where we saw many elephants, peacocks, monkeys, jackals, deer, a chameleon, an eagle, crocodiles, and storks. The breakfast was delicious (fruit, tea, juice, omelette, samosa).
