We had a great stay ! The room was lovely, very comfortable and had everything we needed! Buffet dinner was great. Sachith was so easy to communicate with and he organised us a great safari for us where we saw soo many elephants, he also organised a trip to a spa and a transfer to our next location. Really recommend!

The hosts were as kind as possible and very competent. Same for the safari driver who always tried to avoid over crowded area thinking about the animals and us. I recommend to have dinner there because the food was amazing. If you pass by Udawalawe, you wanna have a stop at Mango Tree House.

We had a wonderful night's stay at Mango Tree House! The room was lovely and we enjoyed the outside bathroom, with the natural water tap, we even saw a little frog! The buffet dinner and breakfast were divine, everything is home made with care in the family run business. We'd definitely recommend a stay, particularly if you're visiting the national park for safari as it's only 10km away.

If you’re looking for somewhere low-key, comfortable and conveniently located for a safari in Udawalawe National Park, I recommend Mango Tree House. This family-owned lodge offers a relaxed atmosphere and the owners go above and beyond to make sure your stay is enjoyable and stress-free. Even before we arrived, the hosts were incredibly welcoming and responsive and arranged a safari for us the very next day using their own Mango Tree House safari jeep, which meant we had a private tour - avoiding the crowds of larger group tours. Our driver was incredibly knowledgeable, pointing out wildlife and birds we would have easily missed and taking us to some of the most scenic, peaceful spots in the park for a lunch break. Having our own guide made the whole safari experience feel much more personal and relaxed. I highly recommend a day starting as early as possible - we started at 6am - so you get out before the afternoon crowds and have the most chance to see as many elephants and birds as possible. Back at the lodge, breakfast and dinner were available - both home-cooked Sri Lankan food. We also got the massages the next morning - and i highly recommend as a way of finishing of your trip here, it was one the best massages i have had (and great after a bumpy day in a safari jeep and before heading off elsewhere in Sri Lanka). Also - loved the outdoor shower (although wasn’t the warmest but that really doesn’t matter in the hot climate. What really stood out though was the kindness and hospitality of the owners. They genuinely cared about making sure their guests had the best experience possible. Plus their friendly dog, Shane, provided entertainment and cuddles.

Everything! this place is one of the best we saw in Sri lanka. Amazing room with amazing people. The food is also the best we've tasted in Sri lanka. the owners are a couple and they opened the place not so long ago. Very nice people and nice energy around them. They arranged for us to do the safari with packed lunch and jeep driver.

A fantastic family. The rooms are in the nature, it’s so cool! They prepare excellent dinner and breakfast. The guy is so useful, polite and speak good English It’s a pity I couldn’t book his safari but they provide fantastic services. 5 stars well deserved. Only one thing I didn’t like: the wifi didn’t work

Amazing grounds and really beautiful cabins. Sachith was such a friendly host and helped us organise our safari, transport and a local massage (one of the best I’ve ever had). Would highly recommend mango tree!

It is easy to see why this place is rated 10 stars. It is absolutely incredible. The villas are perfect and the owners are just so welcoming and accommodating. The safari organised by the owners was equally 10/10. Would not hesitate in coming back!

We had such a brilliant stay at Mango Tree House. Thank you Sachith (and Shane!) for everything and organising our trip so smoothly. Thank you also for our safari snack bags and for lending us some binoculars too! Laksun, our safari driver was fantastic. The dinners and breakfast were delicious and we couldn’t recommend staying at Mango Tree more. Harriet & Greg
