Ken “A lovely little hotel - a perfect base for Udawalewa safaris”

This is a fantastic little hotel only a few minutes drive from the gate into Udawalawe National Park. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are very comfortable ( good shower, good aircon etc) and the price when we stayed was an absolute bargain. The restaurant is very good - we had an excellent vegetarian curry and washed it down with cold beer. The breakfast was also good and very plentiful. They organised a full day safari for us with Sami as our brilliant driver. We had some very close elephant encounters and once he knew our interest in birds too he went out of his way to find us interesting species. The hotel had sent us in with a packed breakfast and at lunchtime Sami set us out a huge spread of curries at a lakeside spot where we were able to sit and watch elephants coming to drink. The staff at the hotel were wonderful throughout- we could not fault them and they went the extra mile satisfying our odd food requests and finding us a long distance taxi at short notice.

Seriously couldn’t recommend this place more. In the perfect location and the most modern, comfortable rooms. We only stayed one night but could honestly have spent a week here! The host and his wife were absolutely lovely. They really cared about giving us a great experience, cooked us the most incredible food and were super flexible about our tour - ensuring we got a good price as well as going at a time when the weather was perfect. They organised us affordable transport to Ella and were super flexible to leave after dinner. Definitely stay here if you are in uduwalawe!

Location was great. 10 mins to the gates of the safari. Staffing was great and all food and drinks were excellent. The hotel manager arranged the safari for us and would highly recommend using them.

The entire resort was private and well maintained. It was extremely clean and the staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to help! The breakfast was well made and location ideal for elephant enthusiasts! Overall the facilities were very good. The pool was kept clean and maintained well. So were the rooms.

Very nice and helpful staff. Very good value for money - comfortable and large rooms. Close to the entrance of the national park Udawalawe (ca. 5min by car), just opposite the border of the park so you can see some animals.

This place is perfect, super clean with amazing views and swimming pool :) The staff is very polite and helpful, food was delicious :) That is the best place we have stayed at in Sri Lanka. We only regret we couldn't stay longer

The hotel was very close to the national park entrance gate. The staff was very kind and considerate. The hotel rooms were very spacious clean and well maintained. Nipuna the manager was very polite and helpful. He organised the safari for us and looked after us very well. The food was delicious and very well priced. We had a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend the resort to all. Nipuna thanks for everything. All the best

The hotel was very well located. 5 minutes from the national park gate. The staff was very helpful and polite . Rooms were very spacious,clean and very well maintained. Nipuna the manager did a wonderful job. He organised our safari and also looked after all our needs from the rooms to the food. The food was delicious and very reasonable. we had all our meals at the hotel. would recommend Aliweta...it's a great place in Uduwalawe. Nipuna once again thank you and keep up the great work.👍
