The staff were very welcoming, easy-going, and always willing to give tips during your stay. Probably one of the best that I've experienced. In addition, the rooms were very affordable.

I loved the vibe and atmosphere that was created at the hostel. There is plenty of space for comfortable relaxing and socialising, the kitchen is well equipped, theres some open grass in the center with a BBQ and chairs that promote connectivity. The owner is one of the nicest people I've met, funny, kind, helpful, generous, and an incredible ability to build a small new family in just 5 days. I stayed 5 nights over Christmas, and was dreading the thought of Christmas day in isolated, unfamiliar circumstances, but I was made to feel very much at home and ended up having a wonderful festive time. The location also has easy access to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and River Crossing, as well as Lake Taupo, so you're never short of activities.

The host was welcoming and helpful. Best if you are planning for Tongariro trop. Make sure to talk to him when planning the itinerary. He gave us a lot of suggestions. Kitchen is well-equipped. The little garden also has a hammock. Really good for value.

Lovely atmosphere, Ian is such a well-spirited host and he, the whole place and also the other guests were welcoming and relaxed. Wish I could have stayed longer!

thank you for a lovely stay here, best hostel I ever went to! The kitchen was well-equipped, there's also a nice terrace and lounge. The atmosphere of the place as well as the people were also quite nice. Ian was sympathetic, chill open and accommodating!

Really friendly and helpful owner, has a lovely cat that roams the hostel who is really cute. Very comfortable and great common area for chilling.

Nice place to stay, clean facilities and bathrooms. Good vibes, with a big lounge area and kitchen. Bed in shared room could be a bit more confortable, but for the price that you pay, you cant complain. I stayed 2 nights and I would repeat if in future I back to Turangi.

great location for hikes. super nice owner and people ♥️ helpful and kind. great atmosphere and bonus: cute cat Jerry 😻 small town with essential services close by and intercity bus stop is one min walk away. nice proper kitchen and shared spaces.
