Sitting on the verandah of River Gum, one of several cottages in the Elm Cottage complex, having a cup of tea in the early morning, sun rising behind me, and the river Goobagandra flowing peacefully below. Four blue wrens twitter and fly around below me, yellow tail cockatoos fly over and the kookaburras sing and laugh in the background. Cows and sheep wander around the paddock. We were a group of 5 adults with cousins catching up for a long weekend, just perfect for us. River Gum has three good size bedrooms with very comfortable beds. The kitchen is well equipped and a good quality gas BBQ is on the verandah. There is and AC unit but as the cottage is screened you get a lovely flow through breeze during the night even when the day is very hot. A perfect place to wake up in the morning.

We stayed in the Blue Gum cottage. Beautiful rural scenery overlooking a pristine river. Resident wombat tending the grass when we arrived. Galahs, rosellas and loads of other birds in the trees. Clean well appointed kitchen. King size bed exceedingly comfortable. Make sure you stay at least 3 nights.
