Now a deluxe hotel, the Izan combines an authentic historic setting and traditional architecture with 21st century comforts. It has been fully restored to preserve its splendour and original character. In addition to its cloisters, charming central courtyard and other original rooms, the hotel now features an outdoor swimming pool and a vaulted breakfast room. The baroque-style property is located in the beautiful countryside of Extremadura. The ancient local town is famous as the birthplace of legendary Conquistador, Francisco Pizarro.

Beautiful hotel, in an old restored convent. Spacious room, very comfortable bed and an amazing lobby where once was the cloister of the convent. Very close to the main square, easy to reach the center by foot.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful. Beautiful cloistered area to come back to have a drink in (after an arduous day of sightseeing). Great location, 10 minute walk to main square.

I enjoyed my stay here even though it was just for one night. I was travelling by motorcycle and the underground parking (accessed from the rear of the hotel was perfect and super secure). The staff at reception were really helpful and the hotel felt generally peaceful. It was wasy to find and is pretty well located far enough away from traffic etc to be quiet but close enough to walk to the old historic area (in just 10/15 minutes or so) It was a good stay and I'd be happy to stay here again if travelling in this area. Breakfast was reasonable enough as well
