Rooms were faultlessly clean and, though very simple, were plenty comfortable enough. Location is excellent, and when the DJH hostel is closed out of season, nothing in the immediate area can compete with the Kolping Hostel on price. Staff are very helpful and speak excellent English. Showers and toilets are in communal blocks, but there are plenty of them, and again they are well maintained.

Very nice manager always ready to help, outside is vending machine, so you don't need nobody to get your key. there is no check in desk, nice room, good heating, very clean, near city center

Excellent location in the heart of old city Trier, close to the Altmarkt Square and to main pedestrian zone with shops and restaurants. The famous Porta Nigra (ancient Roman Gate enjoying the status of UNESCO World Heritage) is approx. 500 meter apart at easy walking distance, Same for the Hauptbahnof Trier (Main Station) which is just a few hundred meters past the Porta Nigra upon walking further into the eastern direction. The Hostel structure is well organized and efficient in all its elements and services. Even not being a luxury venue, the offer is well related to its price level and the main expectations are met (the shared bathrooms are numerous and located just outside the individual rooms' doors, same applies to the shared shower-rooms which are along the hallways and rationally indicated for each room number, so as to get an efficient occupancy by the different guests. The cleanliness is overall satisfactory and the main items for a comfortable stay are available. Hosts at the reception are affable, efficient and eager to share useful information. Wifi connection is powerful and stable in the whole structure and inside the rooms.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. Location couldn't be more central and staff were hugely helpful and informative at all times. Could not recommend highly enough and would happily stay here again were I ever to have the fortune of visiting the truly amazing location that is Trier.

This is such a fantastic place, quiet yet very near the centre and only 15min walk to the main train station! The staff are very kind. You can hire a fan in the summer heat, but my 3rd floor room was cool, with a window overlooking the park. Spotless clean bathrooms and washbasins in the room. My single room was €45 without breakfast, and very comfortable. Amazing value!
