A wonderful family run small unit with Gloria supervising our needs and Seve taking us on an educational river tour. He is an expert on local wildlife and the habitation. Even a downpours didn't prevent us finding many birds at close quarters. Highly recommend or those wishing to investigate the National park.

Gloria and Sergio were lovely hosts. We had a great stay with them and would highly recommend. The rooms are simple but clean and very comfortable and we had everything we needed. We took the tour with Sergio and so glad we did, it was more bespoke as there were only a 4 of us and he was incredibly knowledgeable. We saw so much wildlife and it was an experience we’ll never forget. The rooms are in the San Francisco area rather than the main part of Tortuguero but we liked being away from the hustle and bustle and Gloria organised for a boat to take us to the town (10 mins down the river) whenever we needed so really easy.

Beds were so comfortable. The new pool was a fabulous place to cool off after a day in the national park. Incredible day and night tours with Sergio who was amazing at spotting the local wildlife. He knows so much about the area and loves sharing it with guests Sergio was also happy to take and pick us up from Tortugeuro so we could explore the town.

Great location in the community of San Francisco feeling like a part of the community. Nature in abundance. Fantastic host and family. Bonus swimming pool to cool off. Gloria was able to advise,help organise, and provide all our adventures and provided an amazing breakfast. I dream of the day we can return. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience that will stay with us.

Lovely, homely and very clean room. It had air con which was really welcome in the heat. There are only 4 rooms (I think) so it’s a quiet, restful place to be. The breakfasts were incredibly nice. Gloria and her family are lovely, kind, gentle people who make you feel very welcome. We saw a toucan & humming bird in the garden. We took the wildlife boat tour offered by the property which was excellent. It’s easy to get to - you are met in Pavona and again at the dock in San Francisco.

Gloria was an excellent host. It’s in a much quieter area than busy and touristy Tortuguero. The night walk/boat trip was brilliant. The village has lots of birds including toucans. Lots of places to eat/supermarket. Easy to get to Tortuguero on a boat taxi.

Gloria and Sergio were amazing hosts. Great breakfast and the tour to see the turtles at night and the Canal tours were just excellent, all we hoped for and more. Sergio was great at finding the Sloths, Tucans, Caymans and so much more. Gloria was so helpful at arranging our onward travel. Whole thing was just wonderful. Would definitely recommend to stay here! 5 🌟

The rooms are in the family owned plot in the small town of San Francisco. This is a town with a population of 600 and government restrictions prohibit further development outside the confines of the village boundaries. The people are very friendly. The home is very clean and comfortable and Gloria, the owner, was welcoming and kind. Her brother, Asley, picked us up from La Pavona and was on hand to give us tours of the river and to take us to Tortuguero.
