ben “Sergio and Gloria will help you make the most of your stay in Tortuguero”
We really enjoyed staying away from the tourist hub of Tortuguero in a much quieter place run by locals - but you are only a few minutes by boat from everything and Sergio was happy to take us when we wanted to go somewhere. The welcome was outstanding and Gloria and Sergio could not have been more willing to help us get the most out of our 2 night stay. Sergio's boat tour of the national park was a treasure as it was just the two of us and him in the boat, so we were able to glide quietly and saw so many animals birds and reptiles - including a very rare spotting of an ocelot and her cub! We were very glad we stayed here and highly recommend it. It was really good value for money for the service we received.

The hosts are very nice. It is located from a 10-minute boat ride to the center of Tortugero, but they are also arranging the transfers thereto. We went to a morning boat tour with the host in Tortugero National Park and it was the best experience - he is very knowledgable, and have very good eyes to spot even the smallest animals.

Cabañas Daneysha is located in San Francisco, a small village a 15 minute boat ride from Tortuguero. It is quiet, but we liked that and there are reasonably priced local eateries a short walk from the property. Sergio and Gloria are exceptional hosts. Gloria’s breakfasts are great and she had someone meet us at La Pavona to take us to the boat and booked the return trip for us. Sergio planned the whole of our two day visit. He took us to the start of the Cerro Tortuguero hike in his boat, took us on a 4 hour wildlife tour at a very reasonable cost (he is a very knowledgeable guide) and dropped us off and picked us up from Tortuguero. Soda Oasis, right beside the dock in Tortuguero made the best casado we had in the whole of our stay in Costa Rica.
