The Charterhouse does not have 24-hour reception facilities, so please provide an estimated time of arrival when booking. Check-in is usually before 18:00. No arrivals after 22:00 are accepted.Please note that the hotel does not accept cats. Pets can only be accommodated in the Small Double Room with Patio and Large Family Room (2 adults 2 children) with Garden View, and cannot enter the main house. Please inform the property prior to arrival if your are travelling with a pet.Please note that guests who book 'room with breakfast' rates can choose from a variety of breakfast options including Continental, Full English and Vegetarian.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. The Charterhouse, on arrival is a stunning looking building with lovely views. On arrival we were met by Lisa who was polite and friendly with a great sense of humour. The room was clean and comfortable with everything you need. Breakfast was pre -order which suited us ,the breakfast was superb and filled us up for the day. We most definitely will return.

The people running the place were charming and couldn't do enough to help us, from suggestions of great local places to refills on the complementary tea coffee and milk. The room was charming and clean with decent facilities and plenty of storage space. The pool was unfortunately closed as we visited in the off season but I can imagine that being a real treat during the summer months. The location was superb, an easy walk into town along the shore front and right next to the main bus lines if you were travelling further.

Firstly our host Lisa was very welcoming and friendly, We stayed in room 14 which had a very comfortable bed and was spotlessly clean and had amazing views. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choices and nicely cooked. Very easy parking for the car. Great location between Torquay and Paignton if not using your car very close to train and bus stations. We will definitely be staying the Charterhouse again.

Great place to stay location wise: a very short walk to the sea front. Wonderfully friendly staff made us feel at home the minute we arrived. Spacious garden room for the dog who also felt at home. In fact, our dog didn’t want to leave at the end. Breakfast was perfect.

Lisa and Christoph were wonderful, I was travelling on my own and I felt very looked after. Breakfast was superb, bed was really comfy. Lisa went out of her way to make my stay comfortable, highly recommended.

Breakfast was excellent,plenty of choice. Great location close to sea front 10 minutes walk to the train station and even closer for the bus stop
