The room was very clean and comfortable, but a bit cold at night. The bed was very comfortable but maybe a thicker duvet would be better. Breakfast was lovely. The location was great for the station but quite a long walk into the centre. The grounds and garden are BEAUTIFUL!

I had a lovely seaside getaway to Torquay for the first time! The Elmington is in a fab location - right next to the train station for trips out of town if desired (e.g. Totnes) and only a few mins' walk to the sea front and nearest beach. ~20min walk to the shops/cafés etc, but most places easily accessible on foot/bus if you don't have a car. Would definitely recommend the Kents caverns and nearby Babbacombe beach (and Angels tea room!). Liza was a fantastic hostess (big thank you to Joyce, too!) and very welcoming, with no request too much trouble. My room and rest of hotel were spotless, charming decor, breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed chatting to the other guests each morning. I was given a twin room and it was ideal for me as a solo traveller, cosy but with all I needed. Great shower, too! I only used the pool once but it was fab, albeit a bit cold (beginning of Sep weather was up and down!). Thank you again, Liza - I hope to be back again soon!

The whole ambience of the bed and breakfast. Filled with calmer, through decor. The owner and staff are extremely accomadating, friendly and informative about the surrounding area. Also a good sense of humour.

Everything was just perfect and the host was really friendly and welcoming. The location was great right next to the train station. It was peaceful and relaxing and we had a great time.

Excellent location, close to the train station but still quiet. Short walk to Torquay bars and shops and the sea front. The whole hotel was clean and tidy with very friendly hosts. Room comfortable. Outdoor pool opened on request. Good choice of breakfasts and very tasty full English that powered our walks. Would have no problem staying there again.

We have just returned from our stay and have nothing negative to say. We wish we could have stayed longer. The location was perfect & it was beautifully decorated. Our host was also lovely. Elmington House was exactly what we were looking for. We rented the apartment for the weekend which had its own little outside seating area. It was close to the train station although you couldn’t hear it and close enough to walk to the seafront.

Clean beautiful garden hosts were very kind and helpful made us feel very welcome oils have liked to go in the pool on the property but it was covered and not sure if it was in use
