The fine print
Children 6 year old and over are charged the same rates as adults.Directions from JR Shin-Okubo Station:
- At the exit of the station, turn left into Okubo-dori street, and walk for about 100 metres.
- At the corner of the super market next to Tokyo Plaza Hotel, turn right.
- Walk straight on for about 80 metres, until you see the Shin Okubo Sekitei on the right side of the street.
-- The property looks out on a narrow side-street, which branches off from the main street. This side-street might be a bit hard to find for a first-time guest. We strongly recommend printing out the map or the pictures in this page in advance.

Its classy japanese. I loved it. The hotel is not the newest, but I liked it. Originally I think designed for japanese customers. 24h reception. Quiet and in a busteling area. 1station from Shinjuku. Be aware, to navigate in Shinjuku station can be a challange. Too big, too many entries and exists.

Good for solo traveller. Japanese style tatami mat. There is a door separating the main area and bedroom. However, there's only 1 aircon in the main area which means if you want to have aircon in the bedroom while you sleep, the door must be left open. Which is not great since the windows dont have curtains and light seeps through. If you're a light sleeper like me, you'll be woken up at whatever time the sun starts to rise (which might be good if you're travelling and need an early start anyway). The basic amenities were provided, washing machine and dryer were 100yen each. However I had to dry the same batch of clothes 2 times as it was still damp after the first cycle (maybe my jackets were too thick, but I definitely did not overfill it). You get your own room but there's a shared lounge/kitchen area on the 4th floor where the laundry machines are. I stayed on the 3rd floor and there's no lift so getting down to the 1st floor was a challenge with my heavy and big luggage. The stairs were also steeper than usual which added to the challenge. The mattress was extremely thin and I felt like the only saving grace was the blanket which felt thicker than the mattress itself. If you're used to sleeping on the floor I think you'd be fine. They will make up the room everyday and change all towels regardless of where it is put (unless you put the do not disturb sign). There's DonQuijote, McDonald's, FamilyMart and MastumotoKiyoshi very nearby, and it is only a 5min walk to the Shin-Okubo station so it's a very good location. They provide umbrellas as well. Overall, good location, hard bed, friendly staff.

Staff was very helpful. Location is very convinient, close to train station and plenty of places to eat. Shinjuku is walking distance. The room was clean, and had everything we needed.

Staff was very helpful, spoke English. The property is close to metro station and there are many 24/7 stores around. We were able to leave the luggages on the day of check out, while we had breakfast free of charge. Staff can help to carry suitcase to upper floors.

The staff who welcomed us were very friendly. The space was small but sufficient for a pleasant stay. The location was very good, close to public transport and it was a quiet place. The futon was comfortable to sleep on. It has a small fridge.

Clean, spacious and not too far from train station and the staff are friendly ☺️ they always welcome me back after long day. They also have luggage transfer, you just need to ask them to arrange it.
