Ryokan Overview

Situated in the Asakusa area, Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu has a history of 70 years. The accommodation boasts a view of the Tokyo Skytree from its Hinoki wood bath.
There is a bath for each gender on site and both the female and male baths offer a view of Senso-ji Temple’s Five-storied Pagoda.
Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu is situated a 5-minute walk from Asakusa Subway Station, near Nakamise-dori Street and Senso-ji Temple. Asakusa Subway Station provides direct access to Ueno, Shibuya and Ginza areas, and also to the Narita and Haneda international airports.
Japanese-style rooms and Western single rooms are available. Each guest room comes equipped with air conditioning, a satellite TV, a refrigerator and an en suite bathroom. Hairdryers, yukata robes, tea sets and mineral water are provided.
The street in front of the hotel is closed to general vehicles during the day and is located in a quiet area.

Perfect location for Asakusa, loved the traditional Ryokan experience, the Onsen was lovely and private, warm cosy heating, exceptional service, lovely little lounge area for free tea and coffee. Spotlessly clean.

Everything. Amazing location, exceptionally helpful staff, very kind and polite. I loved the coffee machine at the lobby and the fact that they have a bath at the top floor, that was a huge plus. We loved our traditional Japanese room with tatamis and futons.

lots of lovely touches, like the yukata ( robes), the Onsen, the little welcome snacks. the room was comfy and was great to stay in a more traditional style room. there was a bit more space than I expected. great location, better than central city places we had stayed before.

We came in late at the property during our check in and they were very kind to welcome us although front desk is only available until 10pm. Likewise, although the property is near the Kaminarimon gate and Senso-ji temple, it is situated in a very peaceful part of the area. I also appreciate how they maintain the rooms everyday - it is spotless and neat!

Nice place and area, with very attentive staff. I had a small single room with no view, however that's exactly what I expected. The room was well heated. This is in a good location to work out the Tokyo train system.

Everything! The room was spacious and comfortable. We had a view of the temple from our room. We loved using the onsen after a long day of sightseeing. Everything was clean and the staff were so kind and helpful. Location was situated in the historical district.
