We really enjoyed our stay at Cosy House. It has some sliding walls / doors that offer a traditional style in a simple modern home, with a table that allowed us to sit on the floor to eat, and the children loved this. However, there are no 'comfort features' to allow for relaxation such as comfy chairs or sofa's if you are using the sofa bed as we did. The property is a bit of a walk from Oji Station, particularly if you've had a long day on your feet in the city (or its raining) (about 10-12mins once you've worked out a good route), so worth planning this in to a days iteinrery because you'll always be drawn into 100 yen stores, or Lawsons Store or 7-11's for snacks and drinks which generaly eats up time. The area is a relatively peaceful, residential one (give or take a few sirens late at night, but this is Tokyo remember) and offers several izakayas and yakitori spots, noodle or sushi spots on the back streets between the station and Cosy House, so there's plenty of eating opportunity at reasonable rates, and you can mix with the locals which is always good fun. Check out Torijiro Oji 鶏ジロー 王子店 and Hanpei 大衆割烹 半平. Compared to other accommodation the apartment was rather spacious. We were able to sleep five people, all in beds, which were comfortable, with the option for a further mattress to allow one to sleep in the living area (in a Japanese style) on the Tatami mat floor. The compact shower / bath / unit was perfectly adequate with good hot water and pressure. It was perfect for our stay and we would stay again as the rate was pretty good, and the station was we'll connected (if only it were slightly closer).
