Ryokan Overview

Andon Ryokan is a 5-minute walk from Minowa Subway Station and a 20-minute walk from the historical Asakusa. Boasting award-winning architecture, the hotel offers a hot tub, bicycle rentals and Japanese-style rooms with free wired internet.

Great hotel! However the price has gone up quite a bit and its getting a bit expensive considering the shared facilities.

Nice traditional Japanese hostel style accommodation with the futon and tatami mat set up. If you’re looking to stay somewhere in Tokyo with a more local/traditional feel, this is worth a look. Comfy, clean with friendly staff who speak English. Good breakfast on offer (both western and Japanese) and a hot tub. Found a good ramen spot at 2 Chome-14-6 Minowa, Taito City, Tokyo 110-0011. Enjoy.

It’s clean and there’s also a jacuzzi pool upstairs which use is subject to pre-booking . I hope the water is changed often enough especially when the booking is quite full when it’s one booking immediately followed by another . While we have to use the narrow spiral stairway to get to our rooms, there is a lift for our luggage bags to travel between the floors so that makes it easier .

Located in a quieter part of Tokyo. Awesome hosts - we felt right at home. The breakfast and dinner was truly special - cooked by the owner - possibly the best food I’ve had so far in Japan. And there’s been nothing wrong with anything else I’ve eaten.
