The staff are so helpful at Almond hostel. I dropped my bag with them a few hours before check in, and they’d already put it in my storage drawer in my dorm when I came back. I got a great tour of everything and really felt welcome. The mattress pad was one of the more comfortable ones I’ve experienced in a dorm cubby. The staff did warn me to be careful climbing down from my upper bunk, and it was absolutely perilous, with no handhold to help at all. The area felt quiet but trendy and it’s moments from a metro station. I would make sure to request a lower bunk away from the laundry room and wash room if I stayed again.

Staff were excellent and super helpful. They go out of their way to show you how to work the outer door in order to get into the hostel, and give you a map of the hostel explaining in detail how everything works and where things are. I have nothing bad to say. Clean, close to any amenities you could want, and very homely. Thank you almond hostel! PS the coffee is very good

+ great location in Shibuya, not too far from the sights but still quiet neighborhood + located close to two train stations + super cute Café that has vegetarian options (big plus in Japan) and is open late; a lot of locals drink their coffee there as well + very clean

Second time staying here, this time solo - will defintiely be back. Checking in/out was seamless and amazing location, with very friendly staff that let me leave my luggage downstairs for afew hours after checkout The cafe also does a great matcha

Great experience staying at this little hostel. Checkin was very smooth and staff were accommodating. Enjoyed the cafe below the hostel - it was a great place for meeting people and food and coffee was also pretty good. The rooms themselves were quite small but perfect as a place to come back to and crash after a long day exploring Tokyo. The location was pretty good - situated in a quieter area with lots of options for nice restaurants and also within walking distance to two metro lines.
