From the moment we arrived at Moon Light we felt straight at home. The room was perfect, very comfortable and clean. The place itself was in the middle of the rice paddies and in such a fantastic location. It was so lovely to have lunch there. Peaceful yet in good walking distance of a shop if needed. The owner was so nice and helpful, driving us to rent a scooter in the town nearby and waking us in the morning too. He organised a fantastic safari where we managed to see leopards, elephants, jackals, crocs, water buffalo and hundreds of species of birds. The breakfast we were given was by far the best. Lunch was also included in our safari and it was delicious, home cooked at Moon Light. Felt very special to come back to a delicious spread of food after such an exciting morning. The owner also bought us ice cream before we left and got us a free tuktuk to the bus station. Such amazing hospitality. Cannot thank them enough. We’d be back in a heartbeat!!!

Welcoming host, very helpful and friendly. Amazing safari experience at Yala with his brother Hilak, with private jeep from the Guesthouse and wonderful sri lankan lunch. Quiet position in the middle of ricefields with a garden. Rich breakfast.

We absolutely loved this place! Thank you so much Sanjeewa for your hospitality. This guest house is super clean and has a lovely view over the rice fields, right near the centre of Tissa. The host is so friendly, helpful and provided so much knowledge. We got a little tour around Tissa which we really appreciated - plus the extra gestures thank you! So thoughtful. He also organised a great safari for us in Yala, and then we came back to a delicious home cooked Sri Lankan lunch! Was fantastic. Thanks so much for a memorable stay, we highly recommend this guesthoust to anyone who needs a place to stay in Tissa.

The guesthouse is located just outside the village, at a quiet location between the ricefields. They are very friendly and helpful and have everything you need, comfortable and clean rooms, great Sri Lankan food, good wifi. They arrange very good safari’s and if you are solo traveller like me, if you want, they will get you a jeep to share with other travellers. It’s about 10-15 minutes walking to the nearest restaurant but if you do the full day safari I recommend to use their dinner, delicious Sri Lankan food including fruit and a dessert. Recommended this place!

Sanjeeva is very helpful and tries to ensure that each guest is comfortable and has a good stay. The Safari arranged by him was good. We really appreciate his help even after the stay to arrange transport as we left Tissamaharama.

Directli by the rice fields, wonderful. very nice, clean garden. Great menues with fresh local products sri lanka style. Close to the bundala park. Dilac (brother) is a kind parc driver with knowledge of animals behavior, patience and friendly.

Everything was perfect, the host welcome you with a delicious mango juice from his tree, the rooms are super clean and comfortable. If you want to do a safari, he will organize everything for you. Breakfast, snack, beverages fruits and OMG the Lunch we had on our way back was our favorite in Sri Lanka, they put lots of love into cooking. Everything it’s included in the Safari package. I will definitely recommend this place, and I’ll love to come back. Thank you for this beautiful stay your kindness and hospitality.

If you are looking for accommodation and safari this is just right spot for you. Sanjeewa is one of the kindest person we have met in whole Sri Lanka. He welcomed us with homemade mango fresh juice from his garden. Told us about fruits and stuff around the place. He arranged everything for us ! We had tasty homemade lunch after safari and room upgrade for free. He also took us to bus station and put us on the right bus to Mirrisa. Thank you for memorable time!!! We will come again!
