The most unique feature is the hospitality of the host, Randy and his wonderful family. He's sincere and humble. Went out of his way to welcome us. Introduced us to locally made buffalo curd (yummy!) which is sold all over Sri Lanka. Also showed us his beautiful neighborhood. The room is clean, bright & spacious. The bed linen that were sewn by Randy's wife added a touch of homeliness. The divider in the bathroom helped keep the area outside the shower dry. In the morning, we could hear birds chirping, see squirrels scampering and buffalos walking past - a truly peaceful respite amidst nature.

Randimal's hospitality. He helped us with transportation, took us for a local foot walk around the area and organized an unforgettable safari trip to Yala. The most comfortable room we had on our 2-weeks trip to Sri Lanka. Everything was new and everything worked really well. Location is very picturesque, despite not being so popular among the tourists

A simple , elegant, comfortable, eco friendly abode overlooking a lake ....spotless room. The host Randy was exceptional. We were greeted with welcome drinks and fruit...the room had so many charging ports..we were given chargers , adapters..this extra touch was spot on. As comfortable as a 4 star hotel , with such a warm,kind host...the lunch provided was superb...and I must mention this , we were provided with more than enough bottles of water throughout... Have recommended this place to our friends

The location is directly on the edge of a big lake with wonderful birdlife and nature. The owner of the hotel, Randy, and his wife, were very hospitable, even providing a hot snack to take with us on our safari day. We went for a walk with Randy by the lake and through some pathways to a local nature spots where hundreds of bats roost during the day. Truly a site to see whilst here, but something we would have missed had Randy not accompanied us. The hotel itself has amazing modern prisitine rooms with big windows , aircon etc. Our party had 3 separate ground floor rooms and all were wonderful.

Very friendly family, welcoming us to their house. They served us local breakfast with local food we have not tried before. An experience to remember. If you like to experience local lifestyle, you must stay here. A humble family with warm personality.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Randy and his lovely family have a beautiful house and were wonderful hosts. He invested a lot of time to show us his home town and organized everything for us (transfer, safari, …). Highly recommended to stay there and support this local family owned guest house.

Clean and spacious rooms, perfect location for Yala National Park. Randi was the most amazing host - taking us on free trips around the local area, arranging an excellent safari for us and feeding us so well. Randi and his family made us feel so welcome and we would highly recommend anyone visiting Sri Lanka to stay here (especially if you like wildlife)!!

This is the first time i write a review but Elegant Lake House an Randy and his family really deserve one. Elegant lake house has an amazing location, right at the lake. Lots of animals and nature to enjoy from the cosy terrace. Rooms are extremely clean and big. Its quite and peaceful. Randy and his family went above and beyond to accommodate us. Randy took us on a tour around the village and showed us different sides, which was really fun and interesting. They made us an amazing dinner and lunch, we had the best food of all Sri Lanka here. The next day, Randy took us on another little tour around the area to some local shops and fabrics. He was really invested in giving us the best time and the best impression of the area. Both tours were just an hour and free of charge. Don’t feel like doing a tour with Randy? Just let him know, if you’re happy, he is happy and he will help you in any way needed. To conclude; we had an amazing stay and would recommend it highly to everyone!

Everything! This property is so nice, located in a peaceful village, the rooms are so nicely done. We had two big beds so had one each! The rooms have everything you need including hairdryer, fridge, water, ac, fan, soap, shampoo. The bathroom was lovely and the shower had hot water and also a separate hand towel which many accommodation don’t seem to have. Our host Randy was such a lovely person who went above and beyond to give us the 5 star treatment. Welcome drinks, snacks, water, food. He even picked us up from the bus station free of charge and dropped us off, making sure we got the right bus. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time - he took us on a 2 hour walk around the village giving us lots of insightful information, organised our safari tour for us and gave us a moped to ride and took us on walk up to a Buddhist Monastery. The views were incredible and it was so peaceful. He did this all free of charge - it was the best hospitality we have received. He is a great host and I highly recommend staying here. His wife also had handmade the curtains, bed sheets in the room which I think is amazing.
