We checked in at around 6 pm. It has 3-4 rooms each with attached bathroom. Owner stays in the ground floor. We had to start around 5 pm to Alleppey the next day. Mohan sir was kind enough to turn on the geyser early in the morning around 3.30 pm to allow hot water. Room had mosquito liquid and 1 towel and 1 small medimix soap. 1lt water bottle was provided upon request. Overall, it was worth the price.

The host and his wife are super friendly and helpful. He even drove me to a shop for buying socks for a hiking tour and showed me a hotel with beautiful Indian breakfast. Room is superclean and quiet. I enjoyed staying there for a few days.

The owner and his wife were very warm and welcoming. Aunty did not speak Hindi and we did not speak Malayalam but the kindness was still felt. We had an easy check-in and a very comfortable stay. Quite close to Thekkady market and Periyar Tiger Reserve. Got it for a great deal.

We had a fantastic time in Kumily. When we arrived, we decided to find out about the trekking options available, but before we knew it, our hosts, Mojan and his wife, were there to assist us. They explained how to best book a trek, recommended the best lunch and breakfast spots, and highlighted the must-see attractions in Kumily. We embarked on a beautiful jungle trek in search of tigers. On our host's recommendation, we also took a spice garden tour, and he even came up with the great idea of getting us tickets for traditional sword fighting and dance performances. After a long day, Mojan's wife had the most delicious black tea ready for us when we returned home. The room was spotless, our host was amazing, and Kumily is stunning. All of this made us stay not just one but eventually three nights. We will definitely return to Spicegreen Homestay, and if you have the chance, I highly recommend booking a room. We haven't had a better stay throughout our entire trip in India—definitely five stars, but I’d give it ten if I could!
