This place is located so well- right at the border with the National Park! We spotted bison and wild boars from the balcony! The owner is very kind- he helped us out and saved us from a tourist trap when we asked for his help (the expensive jeep safaris are a trap- go for a guided nature walk safari inside the national park instead). He walked us to the national park office (which is also very close by) at 8:00 in the evening to help us book the nature walk. We were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality. Would definitely recommend this place!

We loved spending our time here. We were welcomed and treated like family. Rani, her brother and the entire family are so lovely. We learned so much about them and their culture. When we weren’t feeling well we were looked after with so much care. They booked for us all the activities in the area. You can ask them help with anything! The room was very bag and there is a huge terrace facing on the reserve, so it is very easy to spot animals from there, amazing! We couldn’t be more grateful and We hope to be back one day !

In the morning you have the jungle view with deers and gaurs. Beds are comfortable, bed linen clean. Staff very friendly, excelent location. Great restaurants in the city.Bathroom is clean and big. The walls are dirty, just as the doors and doorhandles. It was going to give a rate 8 if it was around 800-100 rupies, but for 1200 this place is too dirty.

Great location in Thekkady, near Park entrance & much quieter than Kumily. Lovely Park views from balcony. I saw Indian Gaur, Wild Boar, Sambar Deer & many species of birds. Rooms great value, comfortable, clean & spacious. Hosts Rani & Ram very helpful with booking local trips & onward travel. Rani made me a nice breakfast every morning at the time I wanted. Lovely homestay - highly recommended!

Great location and views over the national park. The couple, Rani and Ram who run the homestay were very kind and welcoming and cooked us brilliant home cooked food. We loved the authenticity of staying with the family. The place is fantastic value for money. It isn’t luxury but it is clean, spacious and supports a hardworking family.

The location is perfect if you want to visit the national park. It was absolutely quiet, a bit away from the center. They provided breakfast but not included in the price. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean.

Konark is run by the loveliest family. We were really well taken care of. The meals were amazing and we had great conversations with our hosts. We highly suggest coming if you want a warm welcoming experience. The rooms need a little bit of maintnance but honestly, the place is so lovely (next to the forrest) that it doesn't really matter. One of the best hosts we had in India so far

Very nice accomodation. The rooms are spacious andcthe bathroom is big with a shower. There is a balcony with a great view of the park. Great location only 10 minute walk from Periyar Park.

We loved our stay at Konark! Rani (the host) was lovely, and helped us whenever we had questions, and helped to arrange our tours in Periyar Tiger Reserve. The rooms are large and welcoming, and the bathrooms are spacious and clean. The meals were traditional and tasty, and Rani was flexible with meal times and dietary requests. One of the highlights of this stay is the balcony overlooking Periyar Tiger Reserve - we spent hours just sitting, admiring the view, and spotting wild bison, sambar deer, boars, and birds.

Room, bed, and toilet exceptionally clean. Spacious with a small dressing corner n a place to hang towels and clothes. With good, sufficient hot water supplied for shower. Quiet and closer to nature with a common balcony outside the room to chill. Mrs Rani, the property owner, provides home-cooked meals (from 150 rupees to 250 rupees). Location is within walking distance to National Park, cafes n restaurants.
